If I'm understanding the tagging correctly, large chunks of the Norlina route have been abandoned for almost four decades. And the Norlina Subdivision Wikipedia states that the north section is not even owned by CSX anymore.
Do the abandoned sections belong in a route relation?

Hello rivermont,
The tracks were pulled up in many places approximately 40 years ago, but the rail bed is still continuous and visible in imagery. Much of the rail corridor between Petersburg and Raleigh was purchased recently by Virginia and North Carolina for restoration of passenger service. Though, it will take years to restore.
I'm not sure if I tagged the relation correctly, but they could be changed if there's a better practice for rail corridors preserved for future use.
