Hello

I’m Daniela (you can call me Dani, DAH-NEE)! I was born and raised in Lima, Peru, although until only the young age of 8 because my family then moved to Bogota, Colombia. We eventually moved to the U.S. Fast-forward many years… and I now reside in Washington D.C.

I’m passionate about transportation (this includes public transit, freight, last distance delivery and travel, safety… and all the good stuff) and maps.

OSM and me

• I’ve been an OSM mapper since 2015, when I was first exposed after learning about it at a Code for Miami meeting.
• I helped map a HOT Task and then fell in love with it! This then led me to be a co-leader for Maptime Miami, and then Maptime Boston.
• I mostly map for fun on my free time.
• I really enjoy educating people about OSM and the power of this crowdsourced database of the world.
• I’ve been on the OSM US Board since 2020 and helped launch our official Code of Conduct.

Soy Daniela (o Dani). Naci y fui criada en Lima, Peru, aunque solo hasta los 8 años pues me mude con mi familia a Bogota, Colombia. Eventualmente nos mudamos a EE.UU. Avanzemos un poquito al futuro, nuestro presente… y ahora vivo en Washington D.C.

Me apasionan mucho los temas de transporte (incluyendo transporte publico, movimientos de carga, entregas y transporte de ultima milla/km, seguridad… y todo lo demas) y bueno los mapas.

OSM y yo

• He sido una “mapeadora” de OSM desde el 2015, cuando fui expuesta por primera vez en una reunion de Code for Miami.
• Ayude a mappear una tarea de HOT y el resto es historia, me enamore. Esto me llevo a ayudar a liderar Maptime Miami y luego Maptime Boston.
• Mapeo por diversion en mi tiempo libre.
• Disfruto mucho enseñar todo lo que es OSM y sobre el poder que tienen esta base de datos colectiva del mundo.
• Desde el 2020 estoy en la Junta Directiva de OSM US y ayude a lanzar nuestro Codigo de Conducta.
