I use GIS mapping software all the time at work and thought that this would be an interesting project to get involved with. I found OpenStreetMap to be an interesting concept and especially liked how it can be useful for NGOs and Humanitarian Charities. In the UK we have excellent maps, but I know from experience that this is not the case everywhere. Hopefully I will be able to help a bit. :)
