GUY ROLAND ZAMBLE, Engineer, graduated with a master’s degree in Remote Sensing and GIS at the University Center for Research and Application in Remote Sensing (CURAT) (Option: Operational and Coastal Oceanography). He is very interested in spatial data analysis, the phenomenon of illegal and unreported fishing (maritime insecurity), the phenomenon of deforestation and environmental issues. Throughout the last years, he has acquired skills in remote sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) tools, in the Collect Earth Online (CEO) platform developed by Fao from the interpretation of satellite images to the feeding of the database of land use changes in Côte d’Ivoire between 1990 and 2020; in Design and implementation of spatial database, knowledge in the use of Python and R for the analysis of satellite imagery, in risk assessment and environmental impact management and in Mapping of pirate ships in the Ivorian EEZ (satellite SAR imagery associated with AIS data). He has a good technical knowledge and very advanced professional experiences. He has participated in several projects with important responsibilities. Among others; -Contribution to the feeding of the database of land cover changes in Côte d’Ivoire between 1990 and 2020 for the FAO-CI and REDD+. -Improvement of the implementation of the rural land policy in Côte d’Ivoire (PAMOFOR project); for the Geofit-Expert firm in partnership with the firm of experts for topography and land tenure consulting (CETIF). This project covers six regions of the country (Agnéby-Tiassa, Bafing, Indénié-Djuablin, Mé, N’Zi and Sud-Comoé). -Implementation of the project (Pro-Planteur); Professionalization of producers and their organizations for a sustainable cocoa production in the locality of N’Zikro (Aboisso) for the German cooperation (GIZ) / ACTUM DEV. -Participation in the implementation of the TeleSIG-Fisheries project;” Remote sensing and GIS as tools to assist fisheries management: Evaluation of pelagic fish species (sardinella) and operational management of fleets” for the National Fund for Science, Technology and Innovation (FONSTI). - Participation in the implementation of the Use of satellite imagery for the management of wetlands for the strengthening of food security in the department of Zuénoula for the African Union (AfricaGIS-Abidjan). -Study on the surveillance of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) of Côte d’Ivoire by the detection of ships: Contribution of RADAR imagery to Sentinel-1A aperture synthesis.
