There are a lot of things around us that cannot be mapped as they are on the ground, so we have to be creative and do workarounds. How can we reflect half-imaginary things like public transport route with a timetable on a map when de-facto buses just appearing here and there by some rule? Do we write scripts that open and close shops according to their opening hours? Yes, I’m exaggerating. Wikipedia says that country border is a boundary of political entity and it’s not always about force, control, sometimes it is imaginary and only supported by documents. Sometimes we can see it as a fence, border control and militia. Sometimes it is completely invisible. Still both can be mapped.

@redsteakraw, I see your point but cannot agree with what you write here. Brute force was a powerful tool in the past, but now majority of civilization thinks that there are more effective ways of making things right.

I would like to tell that it’s quite strange to raise question that was agreed (yes, compromise) years ago and actually just tell - we just thought and let it be how we see it now. No arguments accepted. Yeah let it be a tyranny in our decisions.

If you tell “truth on the ground” I’ll tell you that there is no such thing for administrative borders. There is no one-to-one relation, but there are claims and people who say this or that, official documents that note the areas. This is true that Crimea is controlled by Russia now, and yet it would be a huge mistake to start the thread of disputes about the question that whole countries don’t yet have officially recognized answer you like.

Country administrative borders do not change until country tells it is making the change because it is its administrative border. Russia government did change to its border, and it was done in 2014 in their official documents, and it was reflected in administrative relation in OSM. Ukraine did not do that change, and nothing changed from that time.

Highly disappointed with this DWG decision. That is not how already settled up arguments should be re-resolved.

В общем-то ничего странного. Есть темы, которые кому-то неинтересны. Есть отпуска, загруженность на работе, отсутствие желания открывать форум и JOSM.

Конечно, иметь большое количество постоянных участников было бы хорошо, и к этому надо стремиться.

очень правильный комментарий, мне тоже не нравится сама идея отклонения работы. Валидация в подавляющем большинстве случаев не должна оставлять негативных впечатлений. Правда, при малом количестве участников это часто значит, что зеленых участков просто не будет - все будут работать по принципу - и так много работы, еще доделывать за кем-то… Хотелось бы ошибаться, конечно.

Надо диффы для конвертированных карт. Только вот как это сделать - непонятно.

Раз картинку ты уже сжал (искажения и так и так будут), можешь взять мапник 7 слоя, там в основном границы и видны и ресайзнуть его до нужного размера

imagemagick: convert 1.png -scale 10% 1_scaled.png - у меня выглядит довольно прилично на чистых тайлах openrailwaymap. Линии получаются тонкими, но различимыми, если подложку мапника убрать или сильно засветлить Гифки тоже им можно собирать ;)

картинки можно сжать в 10 раз по сторонам и сделать из них гифку)

Используйте JOSM и плагин OpeningHoursEditor. Редактор, конечно, не такой юзер-френдли, как браузерный, но дает больше возможностей и контроля за происходящим.

на самом деле у нас лесничеств много, а в районе, где я обводил леса, явно было видно вырубки и новозасаженные участки, так что возможно, что landuse и больше должно быть…

Ходить по проезжей части, кажется, не разрешается? Вот и restriction. Да и как только у нас появляется тротуар отдельной сущностью, основная дорога не должна его представлять.

А с проблемой не указанных тегов - добавление тегов нужно в любом случае

По идее этот новосозданный sidewalk=detached должен роутерами обрабатываться как sidewalk=no (foot=no)

Regarding the vandalism. It seems that those who register to OSM specifically to make vandal edits are more likely to get through the ‘new user’ filter than an anonymous comment on the map. There are more tracks left after such comment and more people involved in this process than for the novice edits checks after a month of good changesets.

No, I am not saying that described situation with feedbacks is good. I mean that vandalism checks are not implemented at all and that our db haven’t yet met a bright person with dark ideas :)

Хорошее описание, добавьте, пожалуйста, ссылку на него в вики-страницу PicLayer От себя - картинка в памяти хранится попиксельно, поэтому размер картинки в jpg не соответствует разнице в памяти java. Еще - точки для привязки надо стараться выбирать так, чтоб они не ложились на одну прямую даже приблизительно и были как можно дальше друг от друга. Возможно, стоит привязывать к слою данных, а не спутникового снимка, ну это какая у кого задача.
