Map builder is an experimental platform that allows a limited number of users to enrich and update existing OSM data. It is under the development of Microsoft Corporation.

What does proxy profile mean?

All users who contribute to the OSM through our platform will be masked because of Legal and Privacy reasons.

Currently, this is an experimental project, we plan to open some parts of the project in the future since it will be useful to improve the iD editor.

Isn’t that risky since all those users may produce many junk data?

No. While the project is in an experimental state, MSFT editorial team checks every single edit manually.
