3244135 | Mecheye | Weiland Road does not exist in this form, and never has according to aerial imagery from as far back as the 1930's. Instead, the road indicated as "Aptakisic Road" 10 feet to the north of this one on Google Maps is the road that has actually existed. The name Weiland Road seems to remain
This is a rather confounding mystery. The official Cook County website lists both Weiland Road (As shown here, designated as County Route W17) as well as the false Aptakisic Road (Designated County route A70) Only one of those roads exist. Only one of those roads have EVER existed. Why are both shown on Google Maps as well as Cook Counties official County Route jurisdiction map? Weiland Road as shown here and on Google Maps both possess high-speed turnoffs for northbound traffic on Buffalo Grove Road. Its quite puzzling. |
