Fixing tiny fonts in JOSM on Windows

I’ve just found this page on a search for “JOSM Windows tiny fonts” and switched to the Nimbus look & feel. Thank you for the advice!

OSM editing streak fail

I didn’t know about OSM Streak and now I do. I won’t thank you yet; let’s see how it goes!

Usage of addr:place in the UK

https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/User:Rjw62/UK_Address_Mapping has recently had some changes to it, but none mention addr:place. It looks as if other extant addr subtags could cover the what you want add:place to be used for. Having said that, maybe you could make a case for it by contributing to that page?

Tree named pubs of London

What about hostelries named “The Green Man”? While this isn’t a tree per se, it’s a figure very closely related to all things sylvan, and there are plenty of pubs named after it. I believe one of these pubs lends its name, in turn, to one of the major road junctions of NE London.

exit_to vs destination Update (USA)

Given the trend, would we be looking to eventually retire the exit_to tag?

Via Monte Napoleone

Why I love OSM in one (animated) image. Even in well-mapped European cities there is still so much detail that can be added, and it’s always changing :)

Ghost-Bus-Hunter Start

Hi. I’m guessing a “ghost line” is a bus route that has been mapped but where the service has been withdrawn? This means you should simply delete the relation.

Or, do you mean, and following on from the above, uncovering where lines used to be, by looking into the history of deleted relations and revealing that in a custom map?

Curious to know more.

It’s not that easy editing routes. I find that, of iD, Potlatch and JOSM, Potlatch is easiest to manage routing (never used Merkaartor). Also, the Relation Analyzer is invaluable in highlighting any gaps in the route (a very common occurrence).
