I would agree on setting up a git-based solution for discussing various issues related to OSM, but I disagree GitHub is the right choice, mainly because it is a proprietary solution (recently acquired by Microsoft https://news.microsoft.com/2018/06/04/microsoft-to-acquire-github-for-7-5-billion/) OSM can’t risk to build on. In case a git-based solution is proposed, I strongly suggest to use GitLab (https://about.gitlab.com/) that is an open source, highly developed and supported solution.
