To be completely honest - Google does not need a reason to shut services down, it needs an excuse, so saying that it was shut down because of that incident seems disingenuous.

Waze is an alternative to Google Maps as a navigation software, might makes sense to add that it’s Google based and Google owned though.

I’m wondering how this 2xGPS + RPi works - is the accuracy comparable to the average modern smartphone? If so, you could maybe describe this setup in detail in the future :)

This is an awesome idea, it would definitely get people to be more interested in OSM. I’m not really sure what steps should we take to implement that.
