Algonquin Provincial Park does not have discrete “canoe routes”. Instead, there is one giant network consisting of over 2000km of inter-connected lakes, portages, streams, and rivers. “Algonquin Paddle Routes” is one giant Relation of type=route. It’s related to Ways of portage/paddle segments. https://www.openstreetmap.org/relation/15741183

Portages are a Way. These are largely-complete footpaths. Eg https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/74719541

name=Canoe Lake to Joe Lake Portage (295m)
canoe=portage
highway=footway
length=* ?
lit=no ?

Paths across lakes are a Way (or several), connecting portages together on each end. Eg https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1163707417

Portages and Canoe Paths meet at a Put-in node. Eg https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/1912217342

access=yes?
