I appreciate CyclOSM a lot. My main concern with OpenStreetMap is improving the quality of mapped bicycle infrastructure. I live in Milwaukee and therefore can contribute survey-backed edits in the Milwaukee area. For my edits outside of the Milwaukee area, I mainly focus on gaping holes in infrastructure coverage that can be seen from satellite imagery. Before I make edits for these non-Milwaukee areas, I spot check the history for my edited nodes and ways to make sure I am not clobbering a recent survey-backed change by a local with one backed by potentially out-of-date satellite imagery.
