MapLand OSM Chris Berens, Cape Town

Hi, I have just arrived with OSM in 2017 (not sure why it took so long). Jumping in to JOSM and then seeing my edits coming up a few minutes later was very heartening and I will try to keep it up. Also tired of maintaining geodata on my own hard drives and seeing the sense of working together.

I mostly engage with biodiversity and human community data in South Africa. Coming from a MapInfo learning environment I have migrated to QGIS and am exploring cloud based environments such as Carto, MapBox and now JOSM.

Currently working at VPUU, MapLand (my GIS consultancy) and having fun with Clip Clop. Would love to engage with a local user base and work towards creating a strong and current OSM-ZA.
