Just use highway=footway rather than highway=path

Angie, das wird nicht gehen. Woher soll Potlatch wissen, was für dich relevant ist, wenn Du halb Deutschland anschaust? Strassen? Theater? Oder tags die nur bestimmte user verwenden (archealogical:site=..)? Wenn Du riesige Tracks hast, dann stimme ich dem Vorposter zu, ist entweder JOSM für dich das richtige, oder Du bearbeitest immer nur einen kleinen Ausschnitt in Potlatch. Dafür ist der auch da. Du beschwerst Dich ja auch nicht, dass Dein Auto nicht fliegen kann :-):

weil die rendersoftware nicht nach einwohnerzahl sortieren kann, weil keiner von euch einen style schreibt, der grosse staedte immer darstellt, und weil laengst nicht alle staedte einwohnerzahlen haben? danke, das du als schrott bezeichnest, wo wir unbezahlt zeit reinstecken... das motiiviert unngemein deine probleme zu loesen.

Personally I don't like highway=path.
and landuse=* on a way doesn't make sense, it's no area.

If it's an agricultural way, way don't just make it highway=track and set the permissions accordingly if it's not allowed to drive there for everybody.

Wenn ihr auf Zoom leveln 6-11 meint, die werden automatisch erstellt, d.h. da nicht alle Städtenamen drauf passen, werden von nahen Städten immer einer rausgeschmissen. Welcher das ist, ist Zufall. Also keine Verschwörung der Fürther.

Allan, if oyu upload just the right z6 blank, z7 blanks, etc at the lowest possible level, you will be finished much quicker.

Also, I don't know whether the web upload form doesn't skip the throttled upload queue. You might want to try it: http://tah.openstreetmap.org/Upload/

You don't need to update all of them as the blankness lookup is recursive. So if you set all 16mio possible z12 tiles to blank sea, that would be enough for all the z13-z18 tiles to also show up as blank sea.

Beide Fragen hängen sehr eng miteinander zusammen :-)

1) Yes it's debatable whether the fact that a street is "miller street" is copyrightable
2) What is not debatable is that drawing (even public domain) data in large amounts out of somebody elses database is prohibited in some areas of the world. So there you go already.
3) What is also not debatable is that if you copy somebody elses mistakes from a map (and there are plenty) then you break their copyright
4) Their Terms of Service plainly prohibit derivative works. You could argue that this is invalid, bu you don't want to be sued by Google, even if you are right.
5) It's just much more fun (and healthier) to go out and check the streetnames yourself.
