Rail speed limits in the UK are signed in mph, please can you explain why you have changed these to kmh?
I feel this change.should be reverted. -

I was under the impression OSM speeds were always entered in Km/h with the renderer then doing the conversion if required. Also chunks of this route were tagged in MPH and km/h so I did all km/h for consistency.

All rail signage in the UK that I've seen (mostly English Midlands) has been signed in mph, whether it's the round signs for drivers or the trackside safety signage (I used that as the source of the maxspeed on http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/14838061/history in http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/35319635 ).
In OSM we map what's on the ground in order to make life easier for mappers - any map using maxspeed data can easily convert mph to km/h.
