Hi,
I found the new tag ''bikeability" in your edits. I think you were looking for "class:bicycle"

Hi, we are adding in the ability level required to cycle on certain roads. We were going to set the bikeability level of all roads in southend ranging from 1 (easiest) to 3 (most difficult). Would this be okay to do so? https://bikeability.org.uk/

Hi,
what is this about? Experience level for children? We do have several tags for classification already:
class:bicycle
class:bicycle:commute (this could fit)
mtb:scale (mountain trails)I think the best solution is to make a mapping of your classification to existing tags. This allows existing software (e.g. bicycle routers) to use it right away.
If you want to define a new tag, best practice is to set up a wiki page first (make a proposal) and ask for feedback and discussion.

PS: Do you have a permit to use information from this website for OSM? The page states that "Information collected is not shared with other organisations for commercial purposes.", implying that it is not suited for OSM (i.e. compatible with ODbL)

The bikeability levels we would add to OSM would be our own data that we have generated. I was using that page as an example of what the bikeability is for sorry. Means you can then have cycle routing that is dependent on what the road is rated for the ability level. Does this seem like something that could be added as otherwise we may have to think of another method of storing the ability levels.

I don't see a contradiction to the existing class:bicycle.
My opinion is not the one that counts. The best thing is to have a discussion with a wider group of mappers, e.g. in the forums or on the mailing list.
