I've changed this to foot path with tags bicycle = yes (dubious, probably should be dismount), foot = yes & surface = asphalt. Pedestrian street is normally used only for large areas (see Tuscany LRT stn) or wide "streets" such as Stephen Avenue. See OSM documentation.
Most of these don't appear on the City interactive pathway map, so it is unclear if they should be tagged with bicycle = yes or bicycle = dismount, though I don't think it is too important since they are usually short & low traffic.
In almost all cases, the ends of paths should connect to something such as a sidewalk and/or a road, so routing algorithms can make use of them. -

Thank you, abDoug. I am still learning. This is a brand new development area (with Auburn Glen Close) with houses still under construction and others lived in. The path is about 2.5 meters wide, has a board fence on each side and a post in each end to prevent cars from passing. It didn't seem like a "footpath" exactly to me, and so my mistake. Thanks for helping.
