Hello. What's your source for this new name? I checked the plate on the substation gate on my way home and it still says "ROYAL GREENWICH OBSERV".

on our building code/name register/records it says T038-Sub-Station EDF - Greenwich House.

Then I think the "map what's on the ground" principle on http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Good_practice means we should use the name on the substation identity plate rather then the one in your database.

we need it for different purposes Ben.

If your purpose is different from that of "name", maybe you should use a different key. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:name has a variety of existing options for different kinds of name. Alternatively you could use name:university_of_cambridge (by analogy with ref:university_of_cambridge) if you want a way to reference the University's name for something where that differs from the name marked on it.

Ok Ben thanks,
this is all relatively new to me.
I have had a chat with David Earl, Barnabus Baggs and Jon Warbrick in email regarding this.
