That may be true, but that doesn't necessarily make it a park. If it's a park, what is its name? What government entity administers it? If it's a true park, it should be possible to answer these questions. If you can't answer them, then it's not a park, and something like landuse=grass is more appropriate. From what I can tell online, it's not officially part of the nearby Fish Creek Provincial Park.
I notice that some of the adjacent grassy parcels nearby are tagged with leisure=common. Perhaps that is a better compromise tag for areas that are not official parks, but are used like parks? (They should also probably have the landuse=grass tag in addition).
Because I don't have local knowledge here, I won't revert this change back to landuse=grass, but I encourage you and other local mappers to do some research into the correct tags for these areas.
