Does this mean you have added address, opening hours, brands being sold, and other business details from a "Yellow pages" business directory?

First, this violates the copyright of the other database, and you are copying data that are not ODbL-compliant into OSM.
Second, this constitutes an import in which you have not individually verified the data, thus decreasing the OSM data quality. - Comment from ti-lo

As you're so keen on the copyright subject, this might be interesting to you :

Hi ti-lo (wiki user Rtfm),
just to quote Richard Fairhurst, one of our longest contributors to OSM:
"OpenStreetMap takes and has always taken a whiter-than-white view of copyright. We aim to provide a dataset that anyone can use without fear of legal repercussions. It is not OSM's role to explore interesting grey areas in copyright, nor to push things to the extent that a court case is necessary." (https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/talk/2017-October/079065.html)
Lists containing structured information can be considered as databases and "can be considered as [something protected]" means "don't copy" for a project like OSM which aims to be whiter than white.
Don't expect that we will discuss this with you. Please accept OSM and its rules as they are and don't try just another time how far you can go until you get into trouble. You can find the long list of attempts in the archive of the Tagging mailing list: https://lists.openstreetmap.org/pipermail/tagging/2017-October/033723.html
Best regards
Michael

That's a lot of text for saying nothing.
Do you mean addresses are copyright protected ? Or that it's forbidden to add infomation that proprietors provide on their homepage or facebook page ? -
Comment from Polarbear
I'm just keen on keeping OSM data to comply with its own license.
Thanks for sharing the link, certainly thing will change in future. Please consider that the _existence_ of OSM, by legally surveying data, has contributed a lot to governments opening their geo-data nowadays. -

@ti-lo, as said in another comment, snappy remarks don't help.
Nakaner and I were talking about business directories providing structured listings. I.e. facts that somebody else has collected in such way.
An individual address from an individual homepage should be fine, in particular if you also add the website that proves the source. -

Usually motorcycle shops got websites and if they do I also add the link. I think information provided by the proprietor may be transformed into tagging, or is this also disputed ? If so, the copyright page should probably be more detailed :

Especially this one :

Yes, as said, that should be fine as these are individual data and not structured collections. (Probably our messages crossed.)
