Station names should reflect the name as it appears in official schedules. Do you have any verifiable source where the station name appears with the line it serves in parenthesis as this changeset indicates?

The change to subway station will be reverted, as this is an aerialway station, not a subway station. Such tagging is mapping for the renderer.

If I have changed a station's name, I am sorry. I indeed have no source for names, except for Wikipedia.
Regarding stop area, these are different. On interchanges, there are several stop_area relations to be collected into stop_area_group, and I use line numbers in parentheses for ease of editing. If you are okay with similarly named stop areas, please go ahead and remove line numbers from their names.

I think you're missunderstanding what stop_area_groups are for. They aren't meant to be used in simple cases like these. The complexity increase is only justifiable when the names of the station change depending on the line they serve, which is not the case here (from the original proposal: "Sie sollte nicht als grundsätzliche und einzige Möglichkeit zur Modellierung von Umsteigebeziehungen missverstanden werden, sondern als Möglichkeit mehrere Gesamthalt-Relationen zusammenzufassen, die beispielsweise nur durch Namenszusätze voneinander unterschiedene Teile eines Haltes repräsentieren. Es sollte also nicht für jeden Halt, an dem mehr als eine Verkehrsmittelart hält, eine Gesamthalt-Gruppe erstellt werden, sondern nur dann, wenn es mehrere Halte gibt, die nur durch Namenszusätze voneinander unterschieden sind [...]" see https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/DE:Proposed_features/Public_transport_schema)

I (and other mappers who look after subway systems) use stop area groups for interchanges, that is, for mapping a relation between stops in an interchange. I do not speak German, but the google translation reads very close to that.
I'd also like to point out that the proposal you link to is abandoned, and the version that was approved does not mention stop area groups at all: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/w/index.php?title=Proposed_features/Public_Transport&oldid=625726

The fact that it's abandoned bears no meaning, as the idea of the tag is first documented there. The explanation is clear that such a relation is only to be used when the name of the different stops in an interchange differs; again that's not the case here. The increase in complexity is unjustified for the tagging structure you're applying.

The question is not in compexity, but in usability. The proposal you're pointing to was written in 2010 with no understanging how the data could be used for anything but rendering. Only in 2017 the first public transport router was made. Its approach to stop areas is practical, and does not incur too big of an overhead. For example, how else would you indicate to which station of these in an interchange a platform belongs?
