Hi, but the cycle-way does join to the first carriageway. So I've reconnected it.

Trouble is no one has set the bus/cycle lane it "connects" to and your endpoint then throws some system routings out as it sees the cycle lane as blocking the carriageway, i.e. not connecting to the edge but as crossing that carriageway.....makes taxi fare quotes expensive for one thing as it routes the long way round....

Hi OK I've added cycle lane to the section of carriageway. With or without the cycle lane on Elizabeth Way it shouldn't make any difference at all to any vehicle routing. There are problems with several routing softwares so several routing softwares ought be tried before concluding there is a problem with the mapping.
One shouldn't map to overcome routing problems, rather routers should accommodate reality on the ground. One can cycle and walk from Humberstone Road to Elizabeth way so this should be maintained.

Hi,
Thanks for the quick reply, my position was based on feedback from 2 local taxi companies and a courier that told me independently that the issue was at openstreetmap not their software (obv they would say that though), but I do understand what you say.
That said, whatever the rationale behind it that seems to have fixed the issue, at least for one of them anyway.
Thanks again.
Kind regards. -
