Opening hours could use some work, best to map as a building with a node if the interior boundaries can't be determined.

opening_hours tag also needed some work.

The restaurant occupies the corner of that building, hence the name Rincon. Are you suggesting that I outline the whole building and then add a node at the corner?
With regard to the opening hours, what do you mean by "work" exactly? To me the hours are self-explanatory: Sun - Thur: 11am - 9pm and Fri & Sat: 11am - 10pm. I don't know what the problem is that I should correct.

Basically yes. Nodes are great when the approximate center is known but not the outline. Opening hours was close, but can be tricky. https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:opening_hours
I updated both with a better way of handling the situation, so that's live there now if you take a look.

Thank you for your guidance and corrections. I looked at the wiki on opening hours and see the need for machine-readable consistency across the database. I now understand why nodes are better: buildings have greater longevity than the businesses that occupy them. This was a good learning exercise for me, thank you.

Well, nodes aren't always better. If the entire closed way (area) applies to the amenity or shop or whatever, then tagging the closed way is better than tagging a node. Malls make this a tricky edge case for both.
