NC 885 does not exist and does not appear to be planned, why is it on the map?
Posted by Clara Hobbs on 24 July 2014 in English.Does anybody know where this NC 885 highway on the map came from? It doesn’t exist, and searching the NC DOT website and the web didn’t turn up any relevant results for planned projects. It appears it was added by REFJR with no comment about a day ago. I don’t want to just undo his hard work, but since I can’t find any evidence that he isn’t just making things up and adding them to OSM, I’m not sure why these edits shouldn’t be reverted. Any input would be appreciated.

If you don’t want to delete it you can tag it as highway=proposed proposed=motorway http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dproposed if this is a planned highway.
If it’s only a fantasy highway you should delete it.

I think it’s fantasy. You’d be best contacting the user first and if they don’t delete it, then do it yourself.
They did a bunch of upgrading of US-64 around Jordan Lake that I was unsure of, too. I haven’t been down there in a couple of years, though.

Okay, I’ve sent him a message explaining that he should undo his changes. I’ll give him a few days before I start deleting it myself.
