Historical Objects map

Posted by Jiří Komárek on 15 April 2015 in English.

Historical Objects map project, whose goal is, easily guessable from title, to render historical objects, got a new, nicer and rememberable URL historic.place. On the home page you can click on the wiki pages of the project in English, German and French, map is available in these three languages plus Dutch, Portuguese, Czech, Spanish, Galician, Romanian and Turkish.

Another news are specialised maps of selected historical objects.

If you language is missing, you can easily add translation. And if there are missing some historical objects in your neighbourhood… ;-)

Your portal is not mobile friendly.

When I click on “Here is the map”, it just reload the page. I get a glance of a language menu before the reload takes place but no chance to click on it.

Regards.

H@mlet: Thanks for info.

It’s not my portal, I am just one of the translators. But I already reported the issue to the mainter, Lutz.

@ H@mlet,

Sorry, there are currently no resources to develop a specific mobile browser enhanced version of the map. We tested navigation successfully on Android 4.1 with Firefox. However scrolling of the map is incredibly slow but that’s a question of mobile device memory and performance and also of available internet speed.

Regards.
