Welcome!
There are some pages in our wiki which look complicated at irst but they are very helpful. Just give it a try:
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Slippy_Map
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Deploying_your_own_Slippy_Map
http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OpenLayers_Simple_Example

The main page for OpenLayers - the JS framework for making interactive maps - is http://openlayers.org
There are many examples here :
http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/
Please notice that if you use the standard OpenLayers hosted file (http://openlayers.org/api/OpenLayers.js) it is somewhat large (924kb) - this might be a problem depending on what you are doing. It might not at the same time.
If you have the urge (and skills) you can compose your own file, with only the necessary components. Read more here : http://docs.openlayers.org/library/deploying.html
I reckon Zartbitter's links covered your needs, just thought I would add a bit.
Happy mapping :)
