Good stuff!

Congratulations and keep up the good work :)

Godt begyndt...

Hejsa VicVal,

velkommen ombord! Det lyder godt med entusiasmen og gå-på-modet!

Go' vind fremover!

My first entry; micromapping, JOSM plugins, and more

Hello JoshD, sounds very good what you are doing!

I too am very interested in micromapping - definitely a lot has to be done still to enable fine grained details and not clogging up the overview maps at the same time.

Looking forward to hearing about what you get done, problems you run into etc.

Endelig en Opdatering af mit Garmin OSM dk kort

Super fedt - godt at høre at det kører og godt at der er nogen der tager sig tid til det :)

The main page for OpenLayers - the JS framework for making interactive maps - is http://openlayers.org

There are many examples here :
http://openlayers.org/dev/examples/

Please notice that if you use the standard OpenLayers hosted file (http://openlayers.org/api/OpenLayers.js) it is somewhat large (924kb) - this might be a problem depending on what you are doing. It might not at the same time.

If you have the urge (and skills) you can compose your own file, with only the necessary components. Read more here : http://docs.openlayers.org/library/deploying.html

I reckon Zartbitter's links covered your needs, just thought I would add a bit.

Happy mapping :)

Congratulations on your first edit and hope you have fun with many more!

Roads and their misalignment

Thanks for all the suggestions!

It seems to me that it is a little of both, BING is off and the ways etc. are a bit off, so everything is just a bit off :)

But rather have something than nothing at all I think.

Before I wrote my question I took a look at the GPS tracks - in that specific area they look like a 3 year old has run amok with some crayons :)
Good point that alexz pointed out - get some readings from an open area.

Until I figure out what precisely is going on, I think I'll just do a lot of naming; then I get to go outside as well with my notebook - the weather is lovely in Istanbul at the moment.
