OSM upload from timatio

Posted by timatio on 18 January 2009 in English.

We're working on letting our users upload GPS traces directly from timatio, giving OSM access to even more valuable traces.

How many traces are contributed to timatio.com?
Are you going to upload the traces as they are or are you planning to modify them in any way?
Are all traces contributed by one user?

Thanks for your help

Dear timatio,

unfortunately your traces have no description, so we have to guess where they are. If you do not want to add a description (e.g. Mariazell, Austria), you may use "somewhere" as description tag.

Hello everybody,

thanks for your feedback. The uploads that we currently have online are just test uploads - i'm well aware that the description and tags of the traces need to be updated for the final version of the upload script.

Traces are contributed by various users, re-posting them to Openstreetmap is an option to the individual user.

Currently, we have about 5000 GPS tracks on timatio, although most of them are from areas that are already perfectly mapped on OpenStreetMap.

thanks,

timatio.
