dear mapper abc26324,

I write on behalf of the Data Working Group of the OpenStreetMap Foundation.

There has been some upset amongst the UK community of mappers regarding some of your edits to OpenStreetMap; particularly those edits adding relations to roads where it is generally agreed they are not needed - there are no roads in the UK with multiple reference numbers that need route relations.

A number of UK community members have tried to get in touch with you via changeset discussion to air their concerns and ask for further explanation, but haven’t heard anything back from you. For example at http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/35737307 there are several people asking for an explanation and pointing you at the relevant discussion on the talk-gb mailing list.

Thus I am applying what is known as a zero-hour block to your account; this obliges you to log in to OpenStreetMap and read this message before you can continue to edit the map.

Please make an effort to respond to the concerns of other mappers in the community via the form of changeset discussions or the mailing list forum. It would also be good if you could leave descriptive comments on your changesets, as the default “(no comment)” doesn’t help other mappers to follow along and make sense of what you are doing ( as noted in this discussion here: http://www.openstreetmap.org/changeset/35737381 )

cheers,

Jo Walsh aka zool On behalf of the Data Working Group
