#TIP: The garden most likely should be tagged as landuse=allotments. For some background, since OSM was started in England, we use British English for tags. Apparently the Brits call their community gardens allotments. Check out https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:landuse%3Dallotments. If this look right, can you update your edit?

Hi there -
Does this apply if the community garden is a collective informal effort by neighborhood individuals, including a community action center and food bank, and the garden does not use the raised beds for an allotment-type growing space? I will be happy to edit if this applies, however, I did not think allotment was the right description considering its use. (Source: I am the program coordinator) -

You are correct it's not an allotment type of garden. I see those in Seattle all the time. The recommendation for yours would be to add the tag garden:type=community. See https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Key:garden:type
