Welcome to OSM,
don't forget to map crossings with Footways. I added this footway so routing will be possible on the footways you added.

Thanks! I was wondering about that. All the crosswalks here generally just had the street nodes marked but no actual crossings. I've fixed most... and will do a sight-survey to see what else is needed. (Helps that I live here ;) )

You don't need to map every sidewalk. Here in Germany in residential areas sidewalks are not mapped because residential roads imply sidewalks. The points were also there for car routing. "Attention crosswalk ahead" or something like that
There is a new app called StreetComplete for Android, which can help you mapping outside :)

It's tricky in this neighborhood. Some areas have normal sidewalks. Some have wide curving paths -- at least twice the width of a sidewalk...
I'll take a look at StreetComplete and see how it treats this stuff.
The issue I'm trying to solve: many apps seem to ignore the walkability or bike-ability of an area that doesn't have explicit ways to walk or ride :(
