Changeset: 49262683
It is not necessary a word "Republic" in front of the word Kosovo. E.g Before the name of France there is not word Republic. Added serbian cirlica and latin name.

Hi gorstak,
Is this change something that you've discussed with the Kosovan community? Obviously you're aware of the political significance here. Also in OSM you'll notice that there is a very wide variety of name styles and languages in use, though most places do omit the "Republic..." part.

Hi Andy,
I have not discussed with the Kosovo community.
Because of bypassing the political significance I sugest to use the title of Kosovo.
This is a compromise because some countries consider that Kosovo is part of Serbia.
Kosovo not recognized five EU countries : Spain Greece Slovakia Romania Cyprus and Russia, China, India, Brazil ...
- UN resolution 1244 Establishes the United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo http://undocs.org/S/RES/1244(1999)
- States that (do not) recognise Kosovo as independent https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/International_recognition_of_Kosovo#/media/File:CountriesRecognizingKosovo.pngThe best solution, without Republic only Kosovo.

Hi Milos,
For the avoidance of doubt, the policy that OSM uses for territories where there are disputes is http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/w/images/d/d8/DisputedTerritoriesInformation.pdf , which says among other things: 'The OpenStreetMap community operates under the “on the ground” principle, recording
what is actually currently used in a particular area, giving preeminence to data collected
insitu'. It therefore is important to discuss any changes such as this with people within Kosovo.

Well officaly, Kosovo full anem is Kosovo* with this asterisk meaning its stauts is not red jet.
Sitiation on the ground is very tricky right now. Albanian side uses this unresolved status to fix things on ground to suit heir interests. that include:
- they physically expel non Albanian people form their homes and Kosovo
- they physically devastate and destroy cultural heritage of non Albanian population trying to display as everything is Albanian. That is especially done with churches, monasteries even graveyards.
- they are forcefully renaming everything in Albanian language. Even object that has nothing to do with Albanian pepole or language are forcefully renamed.
- they even claim that Serbian cultural heritage located on kosov is actually Albanian and they even enter such information on OSM map.
- they illegally change cadastre data assigning property owned by non Albaninas to Albanians.
And for the end, even Kosovo* laws require that Albanian and Serbian languages are equal and must be equally used for traffic signs, street tables and all other objects, OSM map does not reflect that, as Albanians not only enter exclusively Albanian language on the map, but also erase Serbian names if entered.
OSM politics regarding Kosovo* is in favor of ethnic cleansing that Albanians are forcing there for several decades.
This policy should be neutral, it should not support ethnic cleansing and illegal status changes.
