Hi!
What is meant with highway="minor path" here: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/542249108 ?
I think path is already the lowest class.
I also don't see this track https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/542248799 in Bing.
Do you have local knowledge from survey? -

Hello:
yes, I have (now) "a lot" of local knowledge.
I am working (with CartONG http://cartONG.org) on a development project, together with a collective in Larabanga. I just received back their work on about 45 FieldPapers I sent them for the town and they have (among many other corrections and detailed info) traced all "major" and "minor" paths that are actually used by the people there.
Yesterday I started to revise the current OSM map in a provisional way, with the first of these 45 papers. You are correct, I invented "minor path" but I am not satisfied with this. (I did this provisionally but would have retagged in the next few days.) In coordinating the FieldPapers work they did, I asked them to distinguished between "major" and "minor" (foot)paths through the village. They did so; now it is up to me to tag them satisfactorily.
As you can now understand, over the next several weeks I will be adding a great deal of very detailed info on a variety of features to the map. Things will be changing quickly, but I have every interest to remain within the "mainstream" of tagging conventions.
I do appreciate your comments so please feel free to continue this thread with me whenever you wish. The more feedback, the better.
Best regards,
Robert Danziger
PS: I have been working with people in Larabanga since 2006 on various educational projects (www.liei-ghana.org): this newest project is for tourism development and as a basis requires a good map. Thus all the activity attributed to me over the last ca. 6 months. -

Hi Robert, sounds great. From sat images one may get the impression that there is no real road network, means, everybody seems to walk the shortest possible way avoiding buildings and other obstacles ;-)
