there are no 'residences' on this road, this portion of the road is simply designed to give access to a residential area

Hello Diógenes,
The wiki states that the service tag is for "access to a building, service station, beach, campsite, industrial estate, business park, etc. This is also commonly used for access to parking, driveways, and alleys” so it would not be appropriate for this road. This road leads to the residences in Condomínio Talatona Golden. The highway=residential wiki page says "This tag is used for roads accessing or around residential areas but which are not a classified or unclassified highways.”

Thank you

I must admit that out of the few definitions that I searched online, I only found one out of them all that aligns with my expectation of what a service road is designed for, I found it on [ https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/service_road ] where one of the definitions state, 'A route which enters or circulates through an institution, compound, land area, etc. for purposes of private access, maintenance, or security.', I agree with the portion of the definition you brought up in regards to a 'residential road', however, I think that the definition more accurately describes 'publically' accessible residential areas (an area accessible to anyone) such as neighbourhoods that are connected to major roads, typically there are no obstacles that impeed the passage of individuals and vehicles from one type of road to the other, the residential area in question pertains to a 'walled' community (private property), roads leading into these areas are usually designed for security purposes due to the area being off-limits to people who have no buisness being inside, individuals accessing roads leading in will typically encounter some form of security measure along their way in, that is why I chose to designate them as 'service roads' aside from setting the 'access' key to 'destination', like what you might find leading into a manufactoring plant, a military base or other roads in areas that are designed for the specific purpose of that area, but at the end of the day, this is a minor issue, I simply thought I had designated this portion of the road conforming to the standards of OpenStreetMaps' Wiki

Hi Diógenes, residential roads can have any kind of access, public or private. The separate access=* tag designates if the road is public or not, as you designated with access=destination on way 283602206. Thank you.
