Mapper since:

I have started with OSM creating the map for Kernen im Remstal (all of Rommelshausen + very small parts of Stetten): at that time the map contained only the two major roads (Waiblinger Straße, Karlsstraße, Fellbacher Straße) through Rommelshausen. Afterwards I have also done minor additions and chages in Fellbach, Waiblingen, Weinstadt, and Esslingen am Neckar. I have also worked on parts of Stuttgart (Bad Cannstatt etc.) and Esslingen am Neckar (northern suburbs and Sirnau). Additionally I have done almost all of Sölden, a small village in the south of Freiburg, and some parts of Titisee-Neustadt (Black Forest). And if I see missing things elsewhere the new/changed data will be added all over the world :-).

Nowadays I do only minor changes, corrections, and additions.

To edit I use the browser based online editor iD (for smaller changes; in the past with Potlatch resp. Potlatch2). For more complex and major changes or offline edits I use JOSM (at the beginning I have edited only with JOSM).

At the beginning I have used a Wintec G-Ray2 (uBlox) standalone logging device, a Navilock GPS USB mouse (SirfIII) device with a small Linux notebook, and nowadays I am using an Android smartphone to track data. Almost all of my edits are done afterwards or in offline mode.

I have knowledge of GDF and Shapefile format, for both Nokia Here (formerly known as Navteq) and TomTom maps (formerly known as TeleAtlas).
