There is a footpath here that connects Mill Lane to Harding Lane, in the same fashion as to Lane Close.

That Ellis Road 'branch' can be extended south slightly further. Additionally, there is a footpath that connects that Ellis Road 'branch' to Ottley Way and Harding Lane. There is also a connection of said footpath to Pelling Way. The depiction on Google Maps is correct, for reference.
