About Me

I’m a software engineer by day, working in the Vancouver area. I’ve been interested in mapping from an early age, and enjoy orienteering and geocaching as related activities. I’ve used OSM data for hiking and biking and other outdoor activities, and recently for offline data while traveling the world. I joined OSM in 2011, but only recently (Sep 2015) started contributing.

Mostly I’m interested in improving the areas I know or visit (New Westminster, Richmond, Kamloops, other areas within BC), or adding missing trails data. I also do some occasional HOT mapping in the future. I’m interested in importing some of the open data available in Canada, but working out the license compatibility and OSM bureaucracy makes it hard to get started.
