OSM Activity

I’ve cycled around the world (formerly under velaia.de, now some photos still on flickr) in 2007 + 2008 and started mapping after I received a Garmin Edge 705 as a present from my sister when I returned home (to Germany). This and my friend Adrian got me started mapping for OSM.

I was somewhat active in the OSM Heilbronn group, participating regularly.

In 2019 I participated with my friends Marco and Luke + Ian (from Stadia Maps) in State of the Map in Heidelberg and met many great people. I volunteered a little for the video recording team.

Since 2018 I’ve lived nomadic, mapping wherever I encounter unmapped trails and other features. I love to walk, hike, trail run and cycle in all kinds of environments. Therefore these are also the primary features I map (pedestrian, hiker, cyclist).

I’m always happy when I see a new use case for OpenStreetMap data and maps during my travels or daily life - and there have been many!
