NC 885 does not exist and does not appear to be planned, why is it on the map?

If you don’t want to delete it you can tag it as highway=proposed proposed=motorway http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:highway%3Dproposed if this is a planned highway.

If it’s only a fantasy highway you should delete it.

A quick look into the Wiki is sometimes very helpful, for example: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Map_Features http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Names#Name_is_the_name_only

Parking restrictions

should be fixed.

Parking restrictions

It’s a bug in iD, I’ve reported it.

Is access=public an valid value? I couldn’t find it here: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Access#Values

Wouldn’t access=yes fit better? Definition: “The public has an official, legally-enshrined right of access, i.e. it’s a right of way”

is this political...?

There’s an Wikipedia article on this topic: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disputed_status_of_Gibraltar#Territorial_waters

is this political...?

This case should be discussed between the spanish and UK mappers.

The OSMF has released an document about how to handle disputed territories: http://wiki.osmfoundation.org/w/images/d/d8/DisputedTerritoriesInformation.pdf The “on the ground rule” should be used in such cases.

One example: Mauritius claims sovereignty over the Chagos Archipelago (which is currently controlled by the UK) –> in OSM these islands are mapped as UK territory.

UNCLOS isn’t right here. Each country could submit its point of view to the UN. There is no agreement between Spain and the UK and therefore the area is disputed. The UN doesn’t recognise any boundaries. Some submissions to the UN are very controversial, for example the official boundary of the Philippines. The submissions of Spain and UK could be found here: http://www.un.org/Depts/los/LEGISLATIONANDTREATIES/europe.htm

If the claim of Spain is justified or not we couldn’t say. This is what a court has to clarify or the two countries make an agreement.

Working on Himachal, Srinagar whole!

Welcome! :)

Aeropuerto Palonegro

Hi,

as you mentioned the airport was already there: http://www.openstreetmap.org/way/96053161 Please do not add objects several times (redundant).

The standard map style doesn’t show airport names on high zoom levels. But there are other styles who do, for example: http://www.openstreetmap.org/#map=16/7.1269/-73.1807&layers=Q
